Whats in the bag? 006

Journal Entry: Fri May 25, 2012, 9:18 AM

This weeks feature comes from the UK. *Fuzzypiggy is a landscape photographer that has done some truly amazing work. I have been dying to show you this bag so, lets see what *Fuzzypiggy has to show.

My Kit 2012 by *Fuzzypiggy

Wondered how much junk I like to carry around in pursuit of pictures? Here it is!

:bulletblue: Canon 5D Mk2 - One of the best full frame cameras available. Now superceeded by the Mk3. Stunning quality that blows you away the first time you use it!

:bulletblue: Camera fitted with optional battery grip ( BG-E6 ) to house two batteries and extend camera controls.

:bulletblue: Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM - One of the best lenses available for all round shooting. The clarity is just mind blowing and I love it.

:bulletblue: Canon 70-200mm f/4.0 L IS USM - Wonderful mid-range telezoom lens, not quite as sharp as the f/2.8 but still a superb lens.

:bulletblue: Manfrotto 190XPROB with 430 quick release pano head - Built like a brick outhouse, you need a rock solid tripod and at nearly 4Kg the 190XPROB is a just that.

Sundry bits:

:bulletblue: Canon L-series 2x extender, drops by stops of light but turns 200mm into a 400mm.
:bulletblue: Lee Filters system - Foundation kit for filter mounting ( 2 slot ) with additional circular polarizer mounting ring added
:bulletblue: Lee Filters 0.3/0.6/0.9 ( 1/2/3 stops ) soft edge neutral grad filter set
:bulletblue: Lee Filters 0.3/0.6 ( 1/2 stops ) fixed square ND filters
:bulletblue: Lee "Big Stopper" 10-stop ND filter - Extremely long shutter speeds, up to 60 seconds on a bright sunny day!
:bulletblue: Lee Circular Polarizer - perfect for making vegetation shine and when used against skies nothing beats getting beautiful deep rich blues and stunning cloud definition
:bulletblue: Canon 430 EX II Speedlite flashgun
:bulletblue: BlackRapid R4 shoulder strap - Way way better than the bog standard neck strap, slings the camera across your body making it easier to walk with.
:bulletblue: Giottos Rocket Blower - perfect blower with a big air chamber for clearing grit of lenses and from sensors
:bulletblue: Involumeter - remote wired trigger release for keeping the camera steady during shots.
:bulletblue: Macro-rings for shooting extreme close-ups on rare occasions
:bulletblue: Lowepro AW200 backpack camera bag

Other stuff in the bag:
2 canon infrared remote triggers
various straps for holding stuff down
four spare batteries for camera
1 set of emergency AA batteries for camera for fitting into battery grip
several CF cards mostly 8GB and 16GB
flashgun gels in several colours
flashgun diffuser hood
tools for fixing stuff like lose nuts on tripod. etc
two torches, one battery powered the other a wind-up one
black/white/grey cards for atuning light and colour
hyperfocal lookup charts
cleaning cloths and fluids
cables for flashgun and USB for PC connection

I really like that he photographs landscapes with longer zoom lenses so many people think they only way to photograph landscape is through a wide angle and forget about the wonderful compression effect that a telephoto can have on a photo. I must admit that I had a hard time picking out the photos for the feature because there were so many brilliant photos in *Fuzzypiggy's gallery.

Thank you for sharing!

I love having fun, learning new things, making people smile, and telling stories. I love seeing life through fun angles and sharing my vision. I enjoy inspiring others as well as being inspired by others. I have the most supportive and wonderful wife Jaime. We enjoy hiking, traveling, sailing, the beach, snowboarding, weddings, and of course, photography.
I love telling vivid stories. I put my heart into every photo, so you will see personality, new perspectives, a great story, and life in my photos.
I work unobtrusively, using my mix of photojournalism, candid, and fine-art portraiture style. I document those important moments with the most interesting, truthful and beautiful perspective.
